I've got a Leupold VX III 2.5-8X36 on my Reminton 504 and it works fine except that parallax is a problem at 8X at 50 yds.  My shots were on left and right, but strung out vertically.  Changing to 6X cured the problem, with all shots into one hole.  Only thing is, I want 8X at 50 yds sometimes.  What's the best rimfire scope out there for less than $200?

weaver classic rimfire, lasted 30 years on a 10/22, now it is mine and I have had it for few years, trouble free

Ditto the Weaver Classic Rimfire, They are now just a tad over $200.00 for the 3-9x32 w/A.O.

This scope will adjust down to 10 meters.

I'm going to try a Classic Rimfire 2.5-7X28.  I think 7X will be plenty for me, and I hate AO.  I'll report on how it works.  I should get it today.

Great choice!  I have that same scope on my 10/22, and I love it...
