My father has an old Unertl fixed 12x scope that he's trying to find out some info. on and I'm hoping someone here can help.  He believes that these scopes were made with wire crosshairs, or were they made with the newer method of a crosshair lens?  Also is there a company that one can send a scope of this type to in order to replace the crosshair assembly to a modern crosshair lens?  Are there any after market custom scope companies that will work on/modify old scopes?  Thanks.

I've seen posts on here from other members who know about those scopes. Be patient and continue to check back; there is hope for that fine scope.

Wasn't US Optics doing repairs on those?

Can you post a picture of the scope in question?

USO did work on the USMC Unertls years ago, not sure if they still do. But those were fixed 10X.

A picture or 2 would help.

Sorry I don't have a pic. the scope is at my dads house, I'm asking for him because he's elderly and not good with computers (hell neither am I).  It's an older scope I believe from 1975-1980 ish, I'm guessing here.  I'll try to get more info. from him.  Thanks.

Wolf6151, Check the ASSRA forum. They are familiar with Unertls,Lyman Super targetspots, etc. I believe there are a number of people who still do repairs on them.I had 2 Lyman Super targetspots reconditioned at Parsons scope service years ago,but I don't know if they are still in business.FWIW--Mike.
