Looking at a Bushnell 2.5-16x42 Elite 6500 30mm, what are your thoughts on this scope, deer hunting and target shooting. I need a scope that is easy to get behind, where eye position is not critical, I have cancer and chemo is making me not real steady with head movements. How does this scope measure up

Hate to hear about your cancer. Praying you kick the crap out of that stuff. I'd love to hear a little first hand info on that scope also.

I have read that review by Lyla but it does not say hoe critical eye placement is, I am used to zeiss and swro when eye placement is not critical.

It has been a while since I looked through an Elite 6500.  But, I believe I remember pretty good "eyebox" performance.  ILya probably still has one… he can bring more light to the subject.  (get it???… scope… more light…)

Peddler,

No harm was meant, I hit the wrong keys when spelling, chemo and radiation has that effect, I have spoken to him and talked about different scopes with him through e-mails. I do not think your comment was necessary or called for. It was rude. I have great respect for him. Hope you never have to suffer the effects of cancer.

Did not mean to be rude. Sorry about that and I'll pray that you beat the cancer.

When that scope first came out several years ago, I was quite enthusiastic about it. It had a wide magnification range and knowing Bushnell Elite glass, good optics. Unfortunately, like other Elites, the reticles aren't very good for low light deer hunting. Any of the reticles will be fine for target use.
Good luck

Many people on this site have helped me through the years and I thank everyone for the help.
