I have lows on my ss 10x42m. I have tps w rings and a ken farrel o moa base on a remington sendero and there is about a quarter inch of play between the barrel and scope.

I just got the new tps xp base for my 10fp, the quality of the base compares to badger bases, and the TSR rings are about as good as leupolds mark 4 tactical rings.

I got the 20 moa base, I would recomend for you as well, because the SS will have plenty of adjustment range to accomodate the extra 20moa, and you will have that much more to use for way down range. If you get steel rings you will thank yourself later if you lap them or have them lapped.

I am sure that low rings will work, but I do not know this from espierience because I ordered medium rings, only because I am more comfortable with a scope that is a little higher.

I have some pics of them but it was 10:00 at night and all I had was a ceiling fan and a single AAA flashlight so the lighting is bad.

Low or medium will depend more on how the stock fits you, I would go plus 20 moa with low rings.

like to thank everyone for the Input!!

the cheek weld on the Bell n Carlson Varmint stock looks higher than the factory stock.. i'll probably get MED rings. and i'll probably stick with the Zero MOA scope base,  based on reviews from Sniper Country.

the Super Sniper has 120 MOA adjustment from top to bottom, that's 8 turns of the dial, 15 MOA per Rotation in 1/4 minute clicks.  "This should be more than sufficient to reach 1000yds with Federal Gold Medal 168gr 308"

i currently have the Factory stock, 2 piece Weaver bases, a springfield 6x42 scope and the cheap (LOW) rings that came with them.
i'll take before and after pics.. hopefully i can post them here within 2 weeks. this is the stock i am getting..around $200.

A 20 moa base is elevated at a slight angle, in this case 1/3 of a degree or 20 minutes of angle. So it basicly tilts your scope slightly downward instead of having the scope perfectly parallel to the barrel. Doing this makes makes the bullet hit about 20 inches higher than it would if you had it sighted in with a 0 moa base at 100yds. so you will have compensation for more bullet drop but still have the ability to bring the impact to correct location at close range.

that stock defenitely has a higher cheekpiece than the factory stock, if you get medium rings it will be much easier to look through the scope.
