I'm in the process of putting together my first precision rifle.  I have a Remington 700 LTR on the way, and would like a Vortex Razor 5-20HD.

The only choice is between the EBR-2B and the EBR-3.  The 2B has the "christmas tree" to adjust for elevation and windage, and the 3 is the regular cross of hashes.  I'd like to use this mostly just for fun precision shooting and some deer hunting.

My buddy that is big into long range competition says to go for the 2B as he finds the tree very useful.  It also has the hollow center point, and a touch thicker main line on the major axes (.06 vs .05 for the ebr-3).  My only concern I guess is that the dots of the tree may get a little busy when hunting, but some reviews say they aren't very apparent in the field, more so at the range, where I would want them.

So what do you think?
