Shopping for an optic to mount on my FAL .308, but must be not longer than 4.5 inches, to clear the carry handle. 

My budget officer (SWMBO) prefers pricing under $150.

Pick one of the Aimpoint products they work the best.  Yes it will cost you more. buy once cry once.

Yeah, get the Aimpoint Micro and call it a day, Friend. 

Tell Wifey Poo you have one of the best battle rifles ever devised, (I'm sure G.S. Patton would agree), and you need a reliable optic to keep her safe when the sky falls.

If you are not in a hurry you could check the sample list. Which would be one way to save some money. They are on there from time to time. But I just checked now and didn't see any.
