I just got a couple of brand new miltary rifles, (wwII era) unfired bbls. I have decided to start with the 24/47 yugo mauser. I took care of the cosmoline already. I removed the locking screws and tightened the action screws to 55 in lbs, I would like to use the original stock but at the same time tighten them to 68 in/lbs without dameging the stock bed, I was thinking that acra-glas would do the trick but I wanted to make sure. anyone?

Any recomendations for factory 7.92x 57mm ammo that will group close to 1moa?

most all factory ammo is very slow (2,100-2,200) due to the legality that there might be someone who puts a 8x57JS in a receiver and or barrel meant for a 8x57J round.  Basically the gun could explod on someone who thinks they are using the right ammo but it is actually to hot for their small ring old school mauser.  Wolf makes some decent 8mm using prvi partisan brass but if u want accuracy you need to make ur own handloads.  here is a link that might help.  www.chuckhawks.com/8mm.htm

Norma makes 8x57s that shoot at 2500 fps with 2800 ft lbs clearly designated as spitzer. and they also charge 40 bucks a box, how much more could I get out of handloads?

how much better (your estimate) would the gun group on a free floater vs with stock metal and handguard.
