let me know of any 6-24,(or so, does not have to be exact this variable)

ajustable (side preferred)

first focal plane reticle preferred (I like my mils to stay mils despite the mag setting),

that you guys think are the way to go.

I was using a cheap target sports 10x to see if I wanted to go with the SS.  I just want a little more at longer ranges, and a little less at <250m.

I have had too many problems with cheap scopes to set a limit on cost, I want to hear something similar to the above that is really good, based on hands on use and experience.

Any information appreciated.

Wanted inexpensive used car for my young son:

Mid Mounted Turbo-Charged V-12, rear wheel drive, Six speed transmission with over drive

Minimum 375 horsepower and guaranteed 11 second quarter mile.

Not too picky about color, but high performance rubber and racing suspension a must.

Sound system 6 channel CD player with 100 watts per channel minimum. Must burn regular gas.

Want to replace current '89 Toyota Corolla with something a little snappier.

Thanks for your interest.

Ok, so a little sarcasm never hurt anybody. But what you want may exist only in offerings of Eastern European companies and at a little more money than you are willing to spend.

Oh, and with regards to the scope I actually have one shown below on the top .260 M70, USO SN-3 6-30x58 lit mill ergo ard (AKA "the hubble").

You shure must like to eat Squirrels!

I'll admit - I ate more than my fair share of squirrels growing up at my grandparents house but the most memorable was when my grandmother decided to add the left over squirrel meat to the spagetti sauce for Squirrel Spagetti.  This would have been ok except that a few of the rib bones got in with the rest of the meat.

I dont think Ive eaten a tree rat since.

sounds almost as much fun as lead pellets in partridge,

easy to dress, tasty to eat,

but not a whole lot of eating per bird,

and back then the pellets were lead!!

Everyone was worried about the little city kids in the projects eating lead paint then, it was actually us rural boys that ate to much lead (especially counting the lead sinkers we bit into place on fishing line also)

I just spent two glorious days in Central Oregon's High Mountain Plateau with "Rick From Oregon" and three of his Friends assisting a farmer to reduce his rodent population!

Two words stick in my mind "INFESTATION and DECIMATION", because thats what it was. Rick opened my eyes with his ability to hit squirrels (2" x 6" on average) at a measured 428 yards(laser) virtually on demand.

Incredibly fine weather and great opportunities, Tents are standard practice locally because the desert sun can be oppressive.

Picture below shows "Rick in Oregon", near Burns, Oregon in his office dealing with squirrels with his SAKO .204 rifle and Leupold scope.

Another section of the "gun line" showing my .204 and two other shooters. The .204 used the 32 grain Hornady and the 40 grain Burger LTB. Explosive performance of the 32 at around 4000 fps was remarkable, while the 40 at 3600 produced hits resulting with a solid "wack!". Both bullets are accurate enough to do the job, even though I had trouble operating in this rarefied atmosphere (in more ways than one) of high precision varmint shooting.

As a foot note, irrigated ranch country at better than 4000 feet of elevation was remarkably beautiful and the people very friendly. I fired more than 300 rounds in two days, the most ever for me. Many hundreds of rats assumed room temperature.
