Hi all.  I think I have exhausted my google fu on this.  So I am coming to the experts.  I've been searching for a variable scope for my AR15.  I decided on a 1x4. and initially settled on a Vortex Viper PST.  Then I started thinking about cost, and I adjusted to a Burris MTAC.  I figured to save some dollars, and all info pointed that the MTAC  was a good variable scope as well.

So I ordered the Burris MTAC.  It arrived today.  The problem is that I was at a store and picked up a Leupold VXR FireDot and fell in love.  After researching this scope, and seeing it, I'm sending the Burris back unopened and picking getting the Leupold.

I'm looking at the 1,25 X 4.  I'm just trying to figure out the different reticle configurations.  Duplex, #4, Circle...can anyone point me to a resource to learn about them or provide any insight?  What do they represent and what are the differences for?

I'm going to be shooting at targets.

Thanks in advance.
