"One day a wood cutter ask the trees in the forest which one of them would be the best for his ax handle. The Oak tree answered : “Even though I am very strong I provide the forest animals with acorns for their food and am much too valuable for just a handle.”. The hickory tree answered: “I too am strong , but my fruit is very valuable also”. And so answered all the trees in the forest except the lowly ash tree. All the forest agreed it should be the ash tree that is sacrificed for a handle. Soon the woodcutter had his new handle and began to cut down the forest. Seeing their fate the Oak tree said to the Hickory : “If only we would have stuck together and not sacrificed one of our weaker members . We may have been able to survive this awful fate” -Aesop’s fables

Perhaps if they taught Civics and Government in schools today things may perhaps be better.

I think Aesop's Fables SHOULD be included in any literature class in schools a lot of good lessons in those I still have my book thatI was given 45 or so years ago

Perhaps if the schools didn't have so many bleeding hearts as teachers,we would have more children becoming hunters.Yes I agree Aesop's Fables should be a mandatory read.

The 'morality of compromise' sounds contradictory. Compromise is usually a sign of weakness, or an admission of defeat. Strong men don't compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised. -Andrew Carnegie

The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities. -Ayn Rand

Once upon a time, there was a non-conforming sparrow who decided not to fly south for the winter.

However, soon the weather turned so cold that he reluctantly started to fly south. In a short time, ice began to form on his wings and he fell to earth in a barnyard, almost frozen.

A cow passed by and crapped on the little sparrow. The sparrow thought it was the end. But, the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings. Warm and happy, able to breathe, he started to sing. Just then a large cat came by and, hearing the chirping, investigated the sounds.
The cat cleared away the manure, found the chirping bird and promptly ate him.

The moral of the story:

1. Everyone who craps on you is not necessarily your enemy.

2. Everyone who gets you out of the crap is not necessarily your friend.

3. And, if you're warm and happy in a pile of crap, keep your mouth shut.

Wise words to live by.
I've heard that story before but couldn't remember all of the morals.
Thanks Rustic, for posting it.

They just don't get it. Any Federal gun law is prohibited by the constitution. A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. It does not matter how much support that they get for their point of view, the second amendment is the law! Until the constitution is amended, they have no authority.

How can we call it unalienable when we allow it to be suspended revoked or restricted?

Don't give them any ideas..... That'll be their next plan.

Let them try! It takes 2/3 of the house, 2/3 of the Senate, and 3/4 of the states to ratify an amendment to the constitution.
