I don't  know where it come from,but I have something like brown glue on my rifle scope it self.what is  the best stuff to get it off with?It has an black , matte  finish, nikon monarch. CAN  somebody help me on this.

+1 0n the goo off & use flip up covers if you have them.Wes is 100% correct ,you don't want anything on the glass.

Are you sure it is not epoxy? Lots of "gunsmiths" have used bedding compound to compensate for improperly fitting rings. Very common in Europe where they had 26mm rings fitted to 1" (25.4mm) American/Japanese scopes.
 
If it is epoxy it is virtually impossible to remove without some serious damage to the scopes anodized finish.

I  try the goof off and it got some of it off,down to where it don't have an bur,but it has the color of what it is still on it.I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD GET SOME MATT BLACK PAINT TO SPRAY ON IT,BUT I DON'T KNOW.

ive used them on my scopes, if nothing else it keeps your mind off the ding you put in your scope so it doesnt drive you nuts.
