I have a 4-16X56 Millett Scope. The other day while out hunting in the evening I took up a position on the north end of a pasture here in Georgia. I know the deer have been entering from the southeast corner and the southwest corner. Now my dilemma, I could barely see the southeast corner and could defiantly not see the southwest, even on low power the sun was over powering. I have been searching the web for a sun shade for this behemoth 56 mm scope and have had no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks Tom

Welcome to Optics Talk.

Millet used to have a guy that used to hang out here, but I haven't seen him around in a few years. Short of contacting Bushnell/Millet, I don't know if a sun shade is available for that scope.

this scope came mounted on a 700 I bought and did not have the lens shade when I got it. It does gather a lot of light but when the suns in the right place wow good luck.
Maybe someone know someone that know someone that has one I can get, you never know!
Thanks Tom

Any of you old timers remember Steve Langford from Millets handle on here?

I sent Mr. Langford a PM with a link to this thread. Hope it helps.

Its crude but some heavy black paper rolled up and taped to your scope will help until you can find another viable option

Thanks for all the info. I contacted Bushnell yesterday and after the rep searching his data bank for awhile he located what I hope will fit my scope. The info he had was so limited he could not even tell me what length this shade would be, so fingers crossed, I wait to see if it will fit.
Belive it or not when I first encountered this issue I was relativity close to my work truck, and I tried to do a makeshift shade out of a hard construction paper cover I had for a log book, nope wasn't working for me. But I tried

Again thanks all
