I am using a Ken Farrell  base on a Savage 12FV, and its quality is second to none.

I don't think I have ever read anything bad about Ken Farrell's gear.

Ever.

Koshkin:

Is your base a Picatinny rail or other??

Hello,  I just picked up a used pair of KF 20moa steel bases for my RemSendero LA.  Since I don't yet have rings, I haven't mounted them, but they seem to be fine.  The fellow I bought them from lost a torx bolt and decided to bore out one of the rear mount's holes for a shorter hex bolt, but it should work.  I got them for $32, so I can't complain.  I think I'll save up for the KF steel 1" rings and keep them matched.  I may even send these back to him with my sob story written down and see if he can do an exchange.

From what I've gathered, he was in the Aerospace business and moved and decided he could do his own gig making gun parts.  Neiman Marcus quality at Macys prices, if you will.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and glad to be on board.  Concerning Ken Farrell mounts and rings, these are top-shelf.  I have been through Ken's shop and they use only the best CNC equipment and materials.  About 2 years ago I had aquired a set of Farrell rings and a mount from another source and after doing my homework, had discovered that the serial #'s did'nt match.  At the same time, I also discovered that Ken's shop was only 45 minutes from me, (when I lived in Missouri).  Anyway, I called Ken and told him that I had purchased a set of rings that had different serial #'s.  He told me that it would not matter because of the tight tolerances of his products but if I would bring them to him, he would give me a new set with matching sn's.  I was amazed at the equipment they used to produce these top-notch mounts and rings.  Ken and his 2nd in command both spent a tremendous amount of time showing me around the entire operation.  The quality of all their products are second to none.  I do know Farrell equipment is highly sought after by military snipers and other folks who are in the theater of war.  I now have 3 sets of mounts and rings produced by Farrell Industries mounted atop Savage mod. 12's and will never use any thing else.  As you can tell, I'm very impressed with him and his operation. Well, thats my 2 cents worth.

Functional and techno for sure but in the real world (not Iraq) of hunting what possible need is there for a base & ring combo that can serve to lift the SUV from a mud hole? I've seen a horse roll on a scabbarded rifle and break the stock ,bend the bbl , bend the scope but the Redfield turn in rings and base were just fine and were reused on the replacement rifle. Sometimes I think pursuit of the "fun" may lead to rather interesting purchasing choices. Maybe on a Barrett 50 in the sunni triangle but for popping chucks in PA? And compared to S&K or Conetrol they are just butt ugly.

Rootmanslim, 30 hear????  I use Farrell 0, 10, and 20 moa "g-force" bases(rails) on my rifles...They aint butt-ugly and there the straightest rail in the rail business!!!!  Its the only system for the Savage.....and probably alot of others..You wont Ever blame his bases for point of impact problems.. and besides that TAC look is all AMERICAN!!!    What part of PA..??

Okay, I'm sure they are a great product. I just can't see them ever sitting atop my 1930s R.F. Sedgley 400 Whelen and I'm not sure I need them on my Tikka Target/Sniper (the old cheaper one with wood stock) as the Burris Signatures appear to be sufficient to handle a 308's recoil. The extra elevation feature is a plus for LONG range, no doubt and if I could afford a Barrett 50 they would make a lot of sense. Thanks, RMS
