No clue what to get here as far as binoculars. Will be hunting in Alberta which has some fields but mostly woodsy foothills where I am so I dont think I need massive magnification. Budget is defenitely not $700 but I dont want junk just something decent n light enough to carry.

Suggestions appreciated!

I would get the Zen Ray ZRS HD in 8X42.  $204 here at SWFA.  Big Grin

Either of the above suggestions would work very well.

Leupold Yosemite 6X30s and 8X30s are the least expensive bins that meet your criteria, and are actually good performers.

Not sure if you could afford them or not ($439), but I would go for the Zen Ray ED3's. If those are out of reach, I'd probably go for the Zen ZRS HD mentioned above. I prefer the larger objective lenses of the Zen's that were mentioned for hunting purposes.
