What do they mean by this?

It means the scope has a 6x zoom range, i.e. the highest magnification is 6 times the lowest magnification... ex: 1-6X, 2-12X, 3-18X...

My NcStar has a bigger zoom ratio than that... can't be too tough...

There are some who do not fear death... for they are more afraid of not really living

Thanks

I feel stupid for asking about something with such a obvious answer.

PC no need to feel that way.

This question comes up more often than you think.

It is called an erector. Each one has a number that is associated with the magnification range, like Ted (Rifledude) said.

The 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and now 10X erectors are being implemneted.  Allowing scopes to have a great amount of versatility in magnification.

It's a good question. Kudos to Rifledude for the great answer.
