Adaptor with drop tube to fit Uniflow to Lee powder- thru dies.

Build it notes:
1) 5/16 brass tube overcomes all shoulders/ledges within parts, making smooth drop of almost 7".
2) 1/2 union has a step inside and must be taken out with 5/16 or 3/8 drill
3) Brass tube can't be flared wide enough to serve as gasket/funnel at top, as the brass will split.
Flare the brass just a wee bit and tap a .30 cal bullet into the tube- then tap bullet back out from other end
4) drive a .30 cal case into the flared end of the tube
5) cutoff the case just below the shoulder and flare the case to fit opening of Uniflow
6) cutoff tube to length... it must be a tight fit into the very bottom of the die insert, or a ledge will result.  If cut a bit too short, cutoff another case neck, flare it a bit and slip over end of tube- the whole thing will squeeze together when it's all tightened down.

Price is less than $15 as shown. but only about $2 w/out drop tube, using only flare 1/2 union.
2ea  .30 cal cases must be sacrificed, in either config. note: .308 DOES NOT work well for lower flare, but .30-30 or .30-06 work well... .308 shoulder too wide.

If using just the union as adaptor, cutoff a .30-30 case as shown and flare it- use it for the "flare" 1/2 union to feed/drop into- same as top flare. Top flare works best when tight against bottom of RCBS funnel and as wide as the threads inside the Uniflow.
the handlw needs reversed if using just the union, to clear other stuff around the turret.

>>>> I've found that using Lee's rifle powder die with the Pro Auto Disk can set back shoulders on cases, as the force needed to operate the powder measure puts considerable pressure against the small .223 shoulder.
I have no idea if the RCBS auto case- activated linkage applies enough force to set back the shoulder, as I've never never used one. That part + die is close to $100. There is also an aftermarket slip- fit adaptor for the Lee Die/Uniflow which costs ~$16+ shipping.
In any event, this homebrew adaptor will not affect the cases, although it is not automatic and the charge handle on the Uniflow still needs to be worked by hand. This will also work well with Lee powder- thru pistol dies.

The case is not 'rammed' into the die, as is done when flaring/charging a pistol case, or operating the Pro Auto Disk with a rifle case.
The case is merely raised to seat the mouth against the bottom of the die insert, then operate the handle on the Uniflow and drop the charge.
