Hello, Can any one tell me what I have, It is a Leupold OD green 12X  40mm scope. The only markings on it are 12X   And Pat. Numbers. Some one told me it was a limited edition and only 400 were made? It has a adjustable Objective.

                                              Thank you

Well it sounds a whole lot like a  "Leupold OD green 12X  40mm scope".  On the more serious side Leupold does some custom colors in their Custom shop. In addition the U.S. military has previoulsy owned some 12x 40 Leupold scopes and they love things painted OD green so it could be stolen from them. Lets hope it's not. Best way to find out more about it is by calling Leupold.

It could very well have been a factory od green coating. Easiest way to tell is take some acetone on a white cloth, in a nonvisible spot rub lightly just a couple of qick brushes, if its a rattle can paint job it will come off easily.

It also could have been refinished by a professional refinishing company. We do a lot of optics refinishing.
