What is the best scope I can buy for the least amount of money?  I need somethign to dial in my rifle scopes at the range.  I will probably use it a handful of times over the years.  I shoot between 50 & 200 yds

Thx

You said you need something to dial in your riflescopes, so I am assuming you need a spotting scope? If so check this out.

Live without, would be the same as the glass you'd get for $100

SWFA's sample list is a good place to look.

I have seen used Bushnell Spacemasters go for around $100 before, and even the older ones will do what you ask.

At 100yds, you'd be happier with a good quality scope that serves both as scope and spotter.  You can do this with most x-16x__ scopes.  I.e., high mag at 16x.  When I'm shooting any of my rifles, I keep my Vortex Viper at 16x close by so I can look at my hits.  At longer ranges you'll need a spotting scope or a spotter, but for most uses, a good 15x or 16x scope will take care of you to 100+ yds. I'd like to have a spotting scope, but I want the new SS SWFA 1-6x and 5-20x deal more, so my money is officially being rat-holed.
