With the reticle in the second focal plane the BCD and range functions only work at one power setting. This should be listed in the instructions furnished with the  scope or on the manufacturers website. With most scopes this happens at full power. If they have a calculator set up on their website some manufacturers allow the reticle to be adjusted to match your ballistic curve with slight changes of your power settings to match your load. Check the scopes manual for the instructions for your specific scope and ammunition.
Good luck and welcome to the OT.
