I didn't know about the level inside that scope. That's probably happened to a lot of folks who have seen it, as obscure as it is.
I haven't seen this scope.

Nice review.  I really like the internal levels... MOST useful.  Thank you for the time, effort and good work...

That internal level is really nice... even for mounting! Better than trying to sit a level on top of a turret cap! Excellent Thanks for another good review!

Nice write up and most shooters would benefit from reading this. The summary had some good advice, but in the Tube Diameter and Internal Adjustment section I am not sure I agree with you if you are saying that a 30mm tube will gather more light than a 1 inch tube. Or did I miss understand you?

I had my links all jacked up and the portition of the "review" you refering to is from my post called "my views on optics" and not from my USO review ...  If you look on the right side you see a box with a list of my posts.  Thats my error as Im no web guru ... figuring some of this stuff out still.

As for the light gathering aspect of tube diameter, a subject of much debate.  The hard part is comparing apples to apples.  I have the same USO scope model in 30 and 34mm tube so I can compare.  I have compared 1 inch and 30mm tube scope that are similar, as in both are 3-9x42 scopes but not the same brand.  To truely make this comparision you would need the same brand and model side by side with both tubes.  I have taken a VX-III black right with a one inch tube and compared it the same spec of a newer VX-3 with a 30mm tube.  Thats about as close as I have been able to come and in lowlight the 30mm tube was clearly brighter.  Now ... one could argue that the newer VX-3 model had newer/better glass and newer/better coating.  That argument would be completely valid.

I personally think a bigger tube helps from my experiences.  A bigger Objective will trump the minimal gains a 30mm tube has, it still helps.
