I have been taking a long look at the Trijicon accupoint 5-20x w/green BAC triangle
I can pick one up for a song and a dance in a trade situation.
Its New in box.
I have searched for reviews...
I am familiar with the ACOG-not the accupoint line.

I have read mixed reviews BUT I want to ask you fellas because you have given me
good advice in the past. So any info you have, I would very much appreciate before making my trade decision.

Thanks,

I owned the 5-20 with green mil dot reticle, what specific questions have you?

The glass was entirely serviceable, the elevation adjustment was a bit limited (but only if you plan to do long range work, which the reticle would indicate you do not) and the scope seemed sturdy and well built.  I was not happy with the thickness of the reticle in the mil dot format, but you should have no such issues.

For a song and dance, it is a good deal.

Be specific on your questions and we can help.

  1. CRISP AUDIBLE CLICKS? CLICK VALUES/TRACKING
  2. GLASS
  3. CLEARITY ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE POWER RANGE

MILDOT WOULD BE PREFERABLE... BUT FOR THE PRICE I CANT GRIPE.

sorry i wasnt clear.

My questions are if the turretts have crisp clicks and are the values accurate?

Is the resolution really good? Does it have any issues through the full power range?

I just dont want it if its not the bright high quality optic I know the ACOG to be.
I have read some people claiming  the accupoint line is of lesser quality.

I came here for the unbiased truth.

It is a 5-20X, so comparing it directly with an ACOG is a bit unfair.

First and foremost, I hate anything and everything 20X or greater, the sight picture is too dim for my liking, the eye box, too constricted.

That said, the turrets are fine, they ain't the best in the industry (USO EREK) nor the worst.  Clicks are audible and tactile, tracking on mine was good.

Glass is very subjective, but I liked the glass, crisp edge-to-edge with just a little CA at the top end.

I've owned ACOG and Accupoint (2.5-10, 3-9, and 5-20) so cannot claim to be wholly unbiased, but they are worth the money - especially if it is a good deal.

Are there better scopes: yes.  Are there better scopes that you can get for "a song and a dance": I doubt it.

Let me know what you think, assuming you go for the Accupoint.

Accupoints have quite a following here. Good luck and please do let us know how you make out.

Finally made my trade  for the TR23-2G 5-20x mildot/green dot with a trijicon/BOBRO mount. (not the green triangle model as I had thought)

It looked really nice right out of the box (pretty damn nice box:P)and I love the mount.

Spun my turrets equal amounts, up-down, left-right then back to factory zero. The clicks are tactile... even a little stiff but I like that as apposed to mushy. I really like the straight knurle turret tops for grip.

Looked through it and its really clear and bright all the way through the power OR at least to my standards, I liked it. I thought the mildots a bit to the huge side but the green dot is bright and tiny as not to obscure the target.

I put it all together and mounted it on my LWRC REPR so hopefully I will know a lot more about how it performs tomorrow after a trip to the range.

I really like the accupoint series:

Okay, back from the testing grounds...

First thing took it to the fifty yard line to see if I was on paper. Pretty low so I spun it up 6MOA and fired again, just a little low. Spun it up 3 more MOA and I had one big hole just at the bottom edge of the one inch black shootn'see dot I used. Nice and easy:)

I had a short section of hefty I-beam set at 100 yards and put three more one inch dots on it. I was able to put three rounds in the bull three times. No further adjustment! I went on to take a few 200 yard shots at orange clays - 4 hits, no misses. First impression was a really good one.

I reset turrets to zero. I cant wait to take it out a lot farther.

Thanks for helping me with the decision. I'm very happy with it.
