Hi all, looking for some good input to help make up my
ever so changing mind. I currently have a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14 B&C reticle
with M1 turrets great setup for hunting and quick distance shooting. I recently
compared it to a couple other scopes I have. A IOR 6-24, Burris 4.5-16 sig and
the Leupy. I was very surprised with the results. Here's what my eyes saw the
IOR took the lead in all respects all though it's finicky. The Burris was
decidedly clearer than the Leupy it completely destroyed all the hype I had believed for years
about Leupold, in fact it was very close to the IOR still a difference in the
two but not sure the extra money would be worth the difference. Were the Burris
fell on its face was low light conditions which is where the Leupy shined, not
exactly a fair comparison because the Burris is a 1" tube with 44mm OBJ
and the Leupy 30MM with 50mm OBJ. I sold the IOR, there just not the bargain
they used to be IMO. I am thinking about selling the Leupy and getting the
VIPER PST 6-24. I like the features of the PST and hear the glass is better. I have been following them for
years but have read allot of reviews and I am little timid. I'd say about half the
reviews I've read have been somewhat negative and it would appear that even
with an amazing warranty the quality still seems to be a little hit or miss. I
would hate to sell it and get something that doesn't work as
well as the leupy mechanically. I sure would like a little more magnification
illumination and better glass. So here's the question can anyone tell me if
it's worth it. The Optic is for a 6.5 Creedmoor AR10 I have aspirations
of shooting a 1000 + yards if I can ever find a range long enough.
Thanks for your help!
