Evening allBoozer
Spent the day at Metro's range qualifying one of our platoons. Froze my @$$ off in a WELL ventilated concrete indoor range, and I didn't have enough coat. I'm beat, and trying to warm up.
Excuse me, I need more anti-freeze, I feel a chill coming on.

Mornin allCoffee
Had One of those weekendsCrutch I won't say I partied to much, but I killed more brain cells than I can afford to lose I thinkBucky

I was at a party Sat. night with like minded folks, when one of the guest decided it was time to start talking politics. Ok, she's not going to get a big argument going, but it was going to suck the joy out of the party. Then she gave me the chance to deflect the topic. It went kinda like this: "Oh, I'm a big supporter of capital punishment, I believe women should be hung just like men". I said, "In some bars they are". After all the cackling the party was back on track.

We have broke the record (Looneyville) for annual rain fall. It was bad enough with the spring floods; KCR's bridge was under water for 7 weeks. Now with the bridge out, the culvert bridge is about 5' under flood stag, and the ground is so saturated that if you spit, the river goes to 2' under flood stage, and the range closes.

I, personally, will not be glad when the Christmas season is over.  Actually, I awoke today, for the first time this year felt the "Christmas Spirit".  It's my favorite time of year and no Scrooge or curmudgeon can ruin that for me.  I sincerely hope to ba able to make a positive impact on someone's life this year, hope to be able to help someone in need, give solace to one in pain, bring joy to some child.
We always take a couple of "Christmas Angels".  A few years ago, we had a child who was an odd size and very difficult to buy clothes for.  The letter to Santa did not ask for toys or riches or ATV's, no shiny cars, just some "good clothes to wear that fit and a stuffed animal for my little sister, and if you can a jacket for my mommy". We completely outfitted that child with a wardrobe, got several stuffed animals for the little girl, and a nice warm coat for the mother.  Months later, I got the most wonderful "letter to Santa" from the Church.  The child said "Thank you, Santa for everything you did.  For the first time in my life, I can go to school and not be laughed at and feel like I'm a member of the school.  My mommy has never had a warm coat.  She is so happy.  My little sister sleeps with the stuffed animals all around her.  She says she has her own zoo.  I wish I could live at the North Pole."

Now, at this time when we are assailed by people in our own country, by the adminstration of BHObama, we REALLY need to spread the good will, need to reach out and embrace our brothers and sisters in life.  We have the greatest country on the face of the Earth, let's be worthy of it...

Morning snookcomes!  Test driving the new super PC I just built!  Just finished loading the OS last night.  Still have a bunch of things to load up still but she up and running....FAST!  Man this thing screams!

What is it with Microsoft that after loading a new copy of Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit I still needed to download over 60 patches and fixes!?!?!!  Anyway this bad boy is quick!  3.3Ghz 6 core AMD Micro, 120Gb SSHD, 8 Gb 1600 Ram, XFX Radeon 2Gb DDR5 RAM dual Video Card.  Boots up in under 15 seconds!   The 23" screen takes some getting used to though.

2 parties and I still survived the weekend. Ok I changed stratagies, and ate mainly from the vegi-tray; this healthy eating is about to kill me. Ever seen quilts levitate off a bed?

Mrs. BF had just a little to much port Sat. night, and spent Sunday in the easy chair with the tv volume real low. I had to fend for myself, so I went back to the scene of the crime and stocked up on chile and fresh vegtables. It's strange how those quilts hover over the bed early in the morning.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of gnats without using insect poisons. I think they came in on some oranges, and they are taking over the ketchen. We are keeping foods sealed and put up and dirty dishes are going straight to the dishwasher when we are done with them. We've been killing them the old fashined way, but as soon as we think we have them under control we'll move something and a dust cloud of gnats rises up, and the swating begins.

My grandma uses it in her country kitchen to keep the knats controlled.  She does a lot of canning and makes jellies and stuff in there so normally a steady supply of fruit flies.

Likely these are not gnats but are a species of fruit fly. Once the rotting fruit is removed, their days are numbered. You can get some traps that use attractants (like vinegar for example) to capture the little buggars. Just Goggle fruit fly traps. If that's not what you want, suck the rascals up in a vacuum (HEPA filtered is the best).

Lynn,  You can solve all your bug problems over night....just sleep in the kitchen and in the morning it will be a no-fly zone! Bucky

Or you could cook a big pot of chilli with plenty of peppers and stay in the kitchen for the aftermath, no no wait nevermind you said no poison.

Evening fellas.

Work completely blocked the OT....guess they finally caught up with me lol.

Anyhooo, have my 6.8 SPC (black widow Big Grin) upper and lower put together.

I'll put up pics ASAP. I can't believe how much tighter the tolarances are between the billet receivers over my forged BCM (which was still a GREAT rifle).

It's FAR lighter as well with the tubular top rail only handguard (Samson Evo 11") although i have 3 other sectons that came with it, that can be attached anywhere which is sweeeeeet!

I need optics yet but i think i may cream my pants over the Geissele trigger. I went with the Super 3 gun trigger and it's about as close to perfect as you can get.

I'm getting close to having enough scratch put together for optics and a good sling. Been saving like crazy but had to do the respectful thing and buy my wife and family some darn Christmas presents Big GrinWink

Mornin allCoffee
Update on the fruit fly war; day 5 of the invasion. After recieving vital intelligence from allies (BugsnBows and SVT-tactical)), new tactics and stratagies were put into place and vital new weapons were placed into the procurement process. As of last evening, it seemed as if our new field expiedent weapons (fruit fly trap) were performing with deadly efficency. Vital supplies (food sources) were being denied to the enemy, and more intelligence was being gathered by our vast intelligence network (internet). However, the enemy has launched a counter offensive this morning that has retaken the gains made yesterday. A reconisance drone was spotted early this morning in our rear staging area (the bathroom), but evaded our anti-flycraft fire. When the new super weapons (fruit fly trap) were approached for inspection, the enemy launched their massive attack. While the concentration of forces seemed to have been weakened, it was soon evident that the enemy was attacking on a broader front and we were soon outflanked and had to withdraw to asses the situation. Some of the new tactics and stratagies were rapidly employed. At this point Command and Control (wife) decided it was time to procure a new super weapon (fly paper) recommended by allies. We have since identified a secret base and supply depot (rotting hedge applies ) and destroyed it. New supper weapons (fruit fly traps and fly paper) are being procured at this time. The cost has been high, but our valient forces are bravely fighting this evil, dispickable, and devious enemy (fruit flys) and VICTORY is just within our grasp.
