It seems like the construction is the same for the issue mags(military) and those are crap IMHO. Plus the price on those are ridiculous. I'd rather get a SL of P Mag's for those prices. It doesnt say whether type of spring design it is. P MAG has the rectangular shaped spring which prevents one side or the other to depress unevenly, reducing jams. milspec has an issue once slightly broke in, but thats just my opinion.

Thank you for the reply ,  I was thinking along the same lines as you, a friend of mine who really likes to burn ammo noticed these, and asked me about them.  Having no experience with these, and little experience with AR type mags I figured I would ask here.  Thanks again LRSMike.

No problem buddy. P-MAG's can be had for about 10-15 per mag, which translates to a boatload for 200, and they will hold more ammo!

I have a bunch of OLD AR mags. I took the guts out and replaced the green with a Magpul, anti tilt follower and never looked back.
I'm sure there are better options out these days, but these have ran for me 100% of the time.

I've tried quite a few different AR mags, and I've found that the military mags are the most reliable. They are also the best value for the dollar. I test the mags to make sure they will drop free when empty with the bolt open, and release with ease and drop free when the mag is full and the bolt is closed. I also check to see how easy a full mag locks in the mag well with the bolt closed. Next I shoot the mag empty looking for any failure to feed and if the bolt locks back on the last round. If a mag fails, it goes in the practice pile. If it passes I grade how easy the mag locks in the well and mark it. Excellent=mag locks with just inserting while holding the mag body, Very Good (VG)=locks with forceful insertion, Good=needs bump on bottom of mag to lock, all others fail and go to practice pile.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
