I have a CZ 22-250 Varmiter on an HS precision Stock.  Currently I have a BSA 6x24 Platinum target scope and want better glass.  It seams that the BSA will not focus well out past 200 yds.  Now for the budget I am un able to go over about 600.00.  But that being said I would rather keep it in the 300-450 range.  I currently use this rifle for popping Dogs.  I really like it at about 16X.  Please give me your opinions and suggestions; I welcome them all, as I am farley new to shooting Rifles.  I am a convert form the action pistol seen to shooting long-range fury desert rats.

Thank you all
Majja

Thanks for the info.  I had that one on my short list.  I am going to go to the local retailer to check it out and will be ordierng shortly.  Just for a comparison what do you think of the Burris Fullfield II.

Thank you

I have only fondled a few of the Fullfield II's at gunshops from time to time, so my experience with them is rather limited.
I liked, like the Ballistic Plex reticle and thought it was interesting.
That said, I'm sure it would be fine for your application.

I would try to do comparison somewhere and then order your choice from SWFA.

Please report back to us when you get it up and running.

I have to ditto Cheaptrick. I will be ordering a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14 SF myself for my .270WSM. After comparing a bunch of different scopes including a $500 Leupold VX-111 in 4.5-14X, I have decided on the Nikon. I believe it is an excellent buy. If you want a little more magnification, they also offer it with target knobs in 6-18X for the same price. Since I use my rifle for both big game and varmints, I am opting for the 4.5-14X. The Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14 didn't look quite as clear to me, and was an extra $80 or so. I also looked at Weavers, both the V16 and Grand Slam, the Sightron SII 4-16X, Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15X, and the Leupold VX-1 4-12X. The relatively inexpensive Buckmasters from Nikon seemed to my old eyes to be the clearest brightest of the batch. And that it was about the least expensive was a happy bonus!

Thank you for the info.  I am most likly going to go with the Nikon.  I may wait a while longer to see if teh SS Varriables come out in the near future, but saving money is never my strong suit.

Thanks

what distance do you take the 22-250 to?

if you dont take it out way too far, i might suggest a bushnell elite 4200 6-24X40 mildot, its right at the top of you budget, and will have clearer, and brighter glass than the buckmaster.

the reason i say way too far, is becuase the elite 4200 doesnt have alot int he way of elevation.
