I've been trying to keep-up with the numerous 4200 threads. I've gained some valuable info, but would like a little more input.

As I understand it, another company makes this scope and it's branded by Bushnell. What is the name of the company that manufactures them and in what country are they made?

Do you still see Bushnell servicing & supporting the 4200 series since they are being discontinued?
In your opinion do you think purchasing one now would be a safe bet?

The company is called Light Optical Works ( http://www.light-op.co.jp/LIGHT_ENGLISH/index.html - http://www.light-op.co.jp/LIGHT_ENGLISH/index.html ) and they are a Japanese O.E.M. manufacturer who make the Elite line for Bushnell and the Grand Slam line for Weaver as well as scopes, binos and spotters for other companys.

As long as the scope is under warranty I can't see any problems there.

I think it would be a safe bet and I'd be looking out for some deals since the Elite line is being rejigged.

Regarding the scope you mentioned in this thread topic...that scope is crystal clear and outstanding for the money and I own one as well as a 4200 4-16x50SF and a 4200 6-24x50SF. Only downside i've found with the Elite 4200 line is that the eye relief is a bit fussy. But you get used to it after awhile.
