Subject: Please recommend a scope for a Mini-14

I am looking to put a scope on my Mini-14 tactical.  I plan on using the scope mostly at the range, but it's also my Katrina gun.  I'm looking for something practical, but not overly expensive.  I do realize the mini-14 is a $600 carbine, not a precision rifle.  Anyhow my budget is around $2-250.   I've always used iron sights and I could use all the help/advice I can get finding a scope.
Thanks in advance

Im guessing you won't be shooting long range (past 300) and want a more tactical type optic.  The 1-4 optic market has lots of options and some get really spendy.  For the price range your talking I would suggest this.  Set of ruger 30mm rings and your rolling.

Sorry I should have mentioned my range goes out to 100 yards.   So 100 yards would be the max
Thanks

Couldnt beat it for the price.  Only thing it lacks is an illuminated reticle, if thats a must then that will change things.

I'll throw in a vote for the Vortex Viper 2x7x32 as well.  I use one on my MP15-22 and MP15 AR.  Used it quite a bit this year at the range.  Great little scope, especially at the close out prices.
So you can get a $250.00 scope for $175.00 which comes with a lifetime, no BS warranty.  Give them a look!

Katrina gun, make sure what ever you choose is water proof.

If 100 is the max range ... and this is a SHTF optic ... get a Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x24 no batteries.
