Ok guys. What is your favorite scope that YOU own? Doesn't matter if it for hunting, paper punching, killing zombies or whatever. If you'd like to give your reason why you may. I think this will be interesting.---Bboy623 Big Grin

I'll start with a vote for the Zeiss Conquest. It's the nicest scope I own and I got it for Christmas last year. It's mounted on my Browning BAR .270 and I'm anxious to get a whitetail with it this year!!--Bboy623

"Zeiss - other" = Hensoldt.  Yep, that's my vote.

If you don't love Hensoldt, you either A. have never seen a Hensoldt or B. work for leupold.

yea yea yea....so I missed a few. It took me awhile to get the poll as it is as it is habit to press "Enter" to go to the next line when that actually posts the thread. So after 2 deletes I finally got it.

On a side note (hoping that this will change THIS season), I almost voted for Bushnell other ( for me a 3-9 Bush Trophy) as it got me a 7 pointer--my biggest deer. Big Grin

...and no, I've never seen a Hendsolt. LOL

+1  !!!!

I really like Meopta!! I haven't had a chance to see them side by side with a Zeiss...but I think the Meopta is clearer ..if that's possible.

I know from reading on here that Meopta does the glass for some Zeiss products...but I'm wondering if they put an extra coating or extra polishing on THEIR lenses.

That's another company I should have added---Bboy623

Well, I enjoy hunting, tactical, and long range shooting. I own several scopes from several manufacturers. I like my Viper and my Conquest. I like my SSs as well. However, my favorite is my Leupy MK4 6.5-20X50. It is tough and precise. It is also an excellent optical performer, despite many harsh reviews I have read about the line online. I do NOT own a Hensoldt, but I would like to.

My #1 scope without a doubt is Premier 3-15X50 Gen2 XR, It is extremely clear, always holds and returns to zero, Built damn tough and I love the turret design.

I don't have any really expensive scopes, but the one the I like the best is my Nikon Team Primos.  My Zeiss conquest looks to have better glass, but I haven't had a chance to use it much yet.  I've been able to use my Team Primos on both elk and a black bear.  Big Smile

S&B 1.5-6X42 Zenith #9 w/ Flash Dot by a nose over a few other favorites.  An incredible scope.

But, I have several other scopes I also love right up there with the S&B, so that's likely to change periodically depending on which one I'm using at the time.

hands down, Conquest 3-9 w/Z600 closely followed by 3.5-10x44 Zplex

What I really need though is a genuine mil/mil something like SS as i keep drifting towards long- distance shooting for fun. Have more scopes right now than rifles that need 'em so need to get more rifles, too. Just can't help myself- keep trading stuff... not sure why that is.

If I had a Swaro, that would be my fave...

Hey!
I don't think anyone can reasonably bash you for having a VX3 as they are fine scopes for the niche they fill.

They aren't quite as nice as a Diavari or some other top shelf scope, but you can buy a whole handful of VX3's for  the price of a Z6, so it's all relative.

mmmmmm. On the contrary. You can buy almost 2 Monarchs for the price of a VX-3 or maybe 3 Vipers for the price of a VX-3 and still have a better better glass on your rifles. VX-3´s are extremely over price IMO There are cheaper better scopes out there on the market. If I had the money for a Z6 I would definetly buy it, but i wouldn´t buy another VX-3 for nothing in the world. I alredy own a VX-III and I´m not planning to get rid of it, but i wouldn´t buy another one for sure.

From reliable reports on this website the VX-3 is a significant improvement over the older VX-III and the price hike was minimal.

I agree, Mike... I don't own a VX3 but I've looked through them side/side with some more expensive Euro's and the VX3s are pretty fair scopes. They're certainly not Diavari class, but good nevertheless.

Still, Prieto is right about Monarchs being less expensive than VX3's, but Monarchs aren't as good, either.
Is the VX3 worth the extra money over a Monarch?
Is the Z6 worth the price difference over a VX3?

One might not be far wrong by saying that Leupold offerings are pricey for what you get.
So what...

None of the top three of my favourite scopes (that I own) are listed.

In no particular order:
SWFA SS 3-9x42
IOR 3-18x42FFP
SWFA SS 10x42HD

There are quite a few other scopes that I like, and to be honest, I do not own any scopes that I do not like a fair bit, but those are my top three.

I still have on of those, except with a #4 reticle.  Unfortunately, I do not have a rifle for it, so I will probably sell it.  That kinda sucks, but I do not like to "store" scopes for the heck of it.

My favorite scope is a Leupold Vari-X II 3-9X40, 1981 edition. It sits on a Remington 700 BDL-LH in .270 that was a first anniversary present from my wife. The Leupy was the first scope I ever bought and it's ability to find and target mule deer is absolutely spooky. Stuff comes and goes, but that one stays put.

My vote was for the Leupold VX-3, as my B-Day is this week, and the wife has a new VX-3 2.5-8 x33 Handgun scope coming to rest on top of my XP-100 pistol.  Love that woman !!!!

On top of my LMT CQB MRP, is another favorite, a S&B Zenith 1.5-6x42 Flashdot 7.

On top of my Rem Sendero 300 RUM, is the newest favorite, a Kahles CL 4-12x52 MZ I just got from little cleo on this forum.

I love 'em all

Kahles

My favorite scope is a Kahles Multizero on a Ruger 1B in 30.06. Had a great time sighting it in at 200 -500 yards. It has held zero for three years despite some banging around and dropping it from a tree stand while pulling it up (unloaded of course).

My go to rifle for deer is a Tikka 7mm-08 with a great Kahles 4-12 x 50 KX. It is the most accurate rifle I have shot (more accurate than me) and really fun to take to the range.

Both are great at first and last light, but the KX has a thicker reticle.

I also have a Conquest 4x that I put on a 270 and like it a lot. Very simple set up, but it is so very hard to put the Tikka down.

I would have to list my old K4. Not because it's a great scope by modern standards, but out of nostalgia. I've had it on numerous rifles over the years and it has been around in some of my best times in the field over the past 25-30 years and accounted for a number of the deer i've collected.
