If you want a great chart showing comparisons in terms of quality control, testing and features from pretty much all the major players in the AR15 community this is it. The further right you go on the chart you more blank areas you find. The casual AR fan might be surprised to see some of the major omissions in more recognizable names like Stag, Rock River, Bushmaster, DPMS etc. This is not to knock any of those makers but it does show why the people who really get in the AR builds tend to go left on the chart. The more i've learned the more i respect companies who go to the furthest possible lengths to put out the most tested and thorough inspected products.

Just a nice introduction into the barrels, BCG's, receiver extension etc....

Also a nice and VERY cheap trick that may help some of you out there. A lot of AR's will have slight play/rattle between upper/lowers. If you experience this, i found a way to completely take the rattle out and make your AR feel like one solid piece.

Look at the receiver lug and you can see a small O-ring around the base of it. You push this to the bottom of that that forward receiver lug and it will completely take out the rattle (if you have any). They last i've found for roughly 6-8 takedowns and only cost $2 for a pack of 10 from Lowes/Home Depot. 5/8” x ½” x 1/16” or #7 o-ring from Lowes specifically.

I found this on AR15.com a while back and thought it may be helpful.

Nice feature too. My SD lower is older and doesn't have that.
