Comparing a Nightforce 3.5 -15 x 50 with zero stop and a Swarovski 3.5 - 18 x 44.
How would you rate the following on the two?
1) Quality of glass
2) Tracking ability or ability to move up x clicks, right x clicks, down x clicks and left x clicks and      be exactly back on the starting point.
3) Durability of construction..... potential to be problem free over a long period of years.

I like the compactness, extra 3 units of power on the upper end, lighter weight, and lower cost of the Swaro.

I like the apparent heavier construction and sturdier and easier to use knobs on the Nighrforce. The 30mm tube is bulkier.

It seems the warranty is  about equal.  Your opinion and comments appreciated.

Al,
For me it is a matter of preference.  I would choose the NF every-time, especially if I was going to be dialing a lot.  I trust the NF's more.
I am not saying it is better, as I personally do not own a Swaro riflescope.

I think it all depends on what you want to use the scope for.  If it is for a hunting rifle and you don't plan to do a lot of knob turning, the Swaro will give you noticeably better image quality and low light performance.

If the scope is for a long range tactical, target, or varmint rifle where you plan to dial in firing solutions, the NF is a better choice due to knobs, reticle selection, and greater adjustment range that are all better suited for long range shooting.  NF is legendary for its mechanical durability and repeatability.

lots of differences between the two in weight, size and reticles. Not sure what your preference is in reticles but NFs are pretty hard to beat against any brand.

+1 with Ted...
Depends on what you are going to do with the scopes.

Swaro's glass is better, NF can do more stuff fast - and is hella-tough.

This board sure is a good way to get a lot of good info when making a decision about optics. Thanks for all the input..
