I have been interested in military bolt actions since I was old enough to know what a rifle was. My grandfather fueled this with his sporterized Mauser's. My wife seems to be agreeable with a collection of these firearms "as long as you don' go overboard". Is a c&r ffl worth the bother or is it just too much of a hassle?

its just as hard to get a C&R as it is a NFA weapon.  Just cheaper ans more sheriffs sign for C&R than form 4

My cousin has one , I don't think you have to have a

store front to get one........with a FFL you do....

Guys here are doing transfers for as low as 15 dollars.  How many guns are you really talking about?  Why invite the BAFTE to come over? I never could see doing it. YMMV
