So for the last couple of days I have been getting an email claiming it is from the IRS and they want to give me more money.

Here is the text of the email.

Dear Taxpayer,

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have
determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $592.80.

Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 6-9 days in order
to process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons.
For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

To access your tax refund, use the form attached to this email.

Regards,
Internal Revenue Service

Today I got another with a different amount.  They have a link that actually has you download an attachment and they want your social, credit card number, name, address, bank name etc etc.

Just be aware that the IRS has made it clear that they will never send out Emails.  So if you get this realize it is a fraud and they are just going to steal your money.  Please pass this onto people you know so our friends and families don't become victim to this scam.

You are correct Jason, the IRS never ever emails and they only call you if you left them a message.  They mail letters, lots of them.
