I just picked up my Bushmaster M4 O.R.C (optics ready carbine) the other day.
I'm sure you all know it's an AR 15.

Looking for a for an optic... Don't know what I should get????
I would like to keep the cost around 100-200 MAX.

This gun is for home protection and lots of target shooting.

Qualities I'm looking for: Accuracy, durability, clarity, range, and room to keep a flip up rear sight on her. (I want to be able to use my sight at night as well)

Your welcome to give me some options... Pros Cons ETC...

(I know this next question does not concern optics; Does "SF' as in Glock 21SF mean Slim Frame OR Short Frame? is there a difference? To me 'short' n 'slim' mean two totally different things. So which is it? )

Thanks for you're time and feedback.

When I think AR15 for close range this is what comes to mind. Wish I had one while I was in the Corps. Not quite in the price range, but a very nice battle sight!

Shot a LOT of ammo with my M4 using irons, a 3x scope, and a 6x scope.

I would say get something really cheap with 3x magnification and see how it goes.

Once you can answer your own question.... then get the $540 optic of your choice.

Monday when most of the guys sign on they will have some good suggestions for you.

SF = Slim Frame  It still feels fairly wide in .45acp the 40 S&W models are more popular and fit the hand better.

You could put a fixed power scope on like a Weaver 4x or 6x or burris 6x.  In the under $200 price range if you want to shoot targets I'd get this used  Bushnell 3200 and some Super Sniper one piece or Burris one piece mount or Warne ultra high rings..

Thanks for the feedback!

William79  before you jump into aimpoint look at the samplelist Trijicon Compact ACOGS. I have both and much prefer the compact ACOG it is always turned on and needs no battery plus has low power illumination which makes it accurate at greater distance. I have  a 1.5x and a 3x and use the La Rue   RCO mount to attach to flat top.
