I just purchased a Remington 870 Express slug gun.  I dont know much of anything about slug guns and need some feedback.  What can i and what can i not do with this gun (talking about the performace)?  I hear that slug guns need certain scopes that are specifically made for slug guns.   Why is this?    Feel free to fill me in on any other information you may have on this gun or any slug guns.

Heavy recoil requires a stout scope and lots of eye relief, also note to try a few different types of slugs as accuracy will vary.

If I recall correctly, the parrallax is set at 50 or 75 yards for shotguns as well. I specifically bought a shotgun scope for coon hunting at night with a rimfire. I wanted to be sure the scope could take a few bumps in the night. So far so good.
