Hello

I have resently bought a Remington 700 LH  caliber 30.06 loong action.

Im going to put on a scope for Elk hunting in Norwegian woods, ive picked up this scope:

Nikko Stirling 1.5-6x42 Diamond 30mm Riflescope

Stock # - NDSI15642

im going to use these bases:

Burris Xtreme Tactical 2 Piece Base

Stock # - 410600

Now comes the questions :)

1. Can i use the SWFA tactical mounts on the burris X bases?? will they center on the base?
2. Will the wide rings give problems for me to pull the scope back (long action)
3. what height will i need to make the scope clear the barrel?? (maybe with snap up covers)

tnx for any awnsers.. and if anyone have some "leave that scope alone" or some, ill be happy to learn :) ClownClownClown

Are you thinking of buying mail order? The USA will not permit shipping outside of their own states.

I cannot help you on the questions. There is a time lag to the USA, these guys sleep a bit longer then we do, but rest assured, they will step to the plate and overnight give you plent feedback.

Tnx for reply tough..

I fixed it from another store... but deep down, Im kinda glad its controlled, regardless that it make some problems for us hunters..   For me, Ali Baba and friends better be "un'scoped"

I do not see the sense in it again. I can buy the same scope in South Africa. I can understand it if some-one places an order for say 500 Tactical scopes, with some obscure end destination.
But a hunting scope and mounts ordered to a fixed address in Norway?

The full Nighforce, Leupold range etc are all available over the counter in South Africa, so I cannot see what is being achieved by the blanket ban.

By the way, what scope and mounts are you going with?

I am also surprised that you have not recieved any other responses.

I have the Nikko Sterling 1.5-6x42 for my CZ550FS in 9,3x62.

I too have run afoul of the export restrictions from the U.S.  Most vendors don't read the fine print. I live in Germany. Optics are NOT restricted to Germany, free to ship.  Many places won't ship to me, based upon the very broad "one size fits all" interpretation of the rules.

If you need assistance, I might be able to get some parts for you.

What do you think of the Nikko Sterling scopes?  Tough enough for 9,3x62?  I will be going to Zambia this year for Cape Buffalo with the rifle.

Thanks,

Yes you can use swfa rings they center fine.
Depends on the length of your scope, I have 1 on a long action Savage and there is room but not much
 Your scope needs low rings.
I have this combo on 4 different rifles but they are all Savages, 3 are short actions and 1 is a long action, I have not run into any problems as of yet with any. These rings are almost identical to the Burris XTR rings just a lot cheaper,to bad they can't be exported.
