" Very few parallax adjustable scopes will be set correctly if you just dial the yardage settings printed on the scope.   This may sound incredibly basic to some shooters, but there are a LOT of good shooters out there that could cut their groups by almost 30% if they just knew how to make this scope adjustment properly.   If you look around, I guarantee that you'll find shooters with great equipment, that have never gleaned this information from some of the poorly written instructions supplied by scope manufacturers.

It's a very good idea to re-label the parallax yardage markings on your scope, so that they are positioned correctly.   Some shooters write yardage markings on a piece of white tape and position it on their scope, so that they will be properly located.   Others will paint a few dots on their scope representing 50 yard increments - exactly where they should be for each distance.   Keep in mind that even if you re-label your scope markings, you may still need to make very slight parallax adjustments to compensate for light, temperature, and humidity changes throughout the day - especially at long range. "

I don't even look at the ring! I just adjust it to what looks good, and shoot. My S.S. is the rear ring type, so when firing prone, it is kind of awkward to see it anyway. As KB mentioned, you can re-label or just focus and go.

Copy that guys good info indeed, that's what I have been doing somewhat.
I'll move the "wheel" until the target looks like its in focus. Then with the rifle stabilized on a bench with the target lined up I move my head, without touching the rifle, slightly from side to side and up and down to see if the target shifts under the reticule. Then I make very minute adjustments to the parallax wheel until no matter how off-centered I view the reticule at the target is in the same position. I was more or less wondering if I could:
"set" The wheel correctly at 100 yards or something and it be good on out (If this is mechanically possible).
Send it to service to have it set. or
Just deal with it and tape it up or something like you guys do.
Thanks again for the suggestions and info.

Sounds like you have a good plan COV. Some scope manufacturers have gone so far as to totally remove the scale from the knob.
