First, I want to thank OT members, especially those of our customers, for your overwhelming support.   Since we just introduced ED2 open hinge binoculars, Chris and I started floating the idea of having some ED2 binoculars for OT members to try out.  The first ones available will be 10x43 and 8x43.  Once we replenish the stocking level, a much talked about 7x36 ED2 will also be available for members to try out later.  More detailed information will be available from Chris in the next fews days on the Test Drive subforum.  Don't miss it.Wink

I bought a pair of the ED 8 x 43's...haven't even had them in the field yet and you came out with the ED2's...you can make it up to me by letting me try a pair of the ED2's to compare them this deer season  :)

Doug/Ted, thanks for the kind words.  We really appreciate the great support from all of our customers and friends.

7x36 will be on the roadmap once we have them in again.

Thanks to all for the great info.. I am considering a new pair of Binocs but just can't afford the really high dollar ones. Without all of the reviews I would have skipped right be these as a name I didn't know and therefore probably wouldn't have considered..

I showed my ED's to my brother.  He bought 7 pair from SWFA for his police department.  He is very picky and under severe budget scrutiny...I'll let you guys know how they like them.  He won't openly rate equipment on the net.

He bought the ED2's BTW.  I forgot to mention that and we have not had a chance to see if we could determine any real differencea in the ED's and 2's.

I couldn't figure out how to edit my post so I guess I have to slop it up with another.  :)

As a huge fan of my Leica's, I've read (with some skepticism) the reviews.  I'll test drive a pair and put something up.

I'm anxious to see if they are as good as some say.

Oh boy!  I am going to get my post count up so I can participate in these tests.  I would like to get a good pair of binos but I have never really liked the ones I have used in the past.

Rancid, I'm a big Leica fan too (10x Trinovids).  I compared it against the 10x ED2 that  bought.  It'll be interesting to see if your comparison mirrors mine.  Now have an open mind, my friend!
