I want to scope my t3 lite 7mm mag for long range hunting to 400 yards on deer size game  in possible low light conditions. I have two favorites and want to pick the best one so I turn to this forum to help make the best pick. The Leupold vx3 4.5-14 is lighter 13 ounces to 18 ounces, shorter, 12.6  inches to 13.9 inches and has more top end power 14.4 power to 12.0 power. The Burris Signature Select 3-12x44 goes down to 3.0 power with a large 37 ft. field of view for closer range shots compared with a low power of 4.9 and a 20ft. field of view. The Burris has a 44 objective compared with a 40 objective for the Leupold. What I do not know is which scope has the better optics. Which scope is more rugged and reliable? Which scope is best for shooting to the same p.o.i. at all the different power settings? Which scope is the best long range low light hunting scope for my t3
lite?

I can't tell you which is better but I can tell you that a Burris Signature Select is a darn good scope. They do have their eccentricities but I like them. I have a 3-10x40 on this one.

VX3 would be my pick.  Lighter, very rugged, better resale, better aesthetics, smaller, slightly better glass......should I stop now?  The Signature's are excellent but the VX3 is... excellenter.

Vx-3 would be my pick also. Easy choice for me.

Thanks for the advice. I like the leupold better in most ways myself. The large f.o.v. is the only advantage for the burris. Does the leupold have enough field for the closer shots or shots on moving animals? If it does then there is no reason for me to get the burris.

Yes the Leupold has enough field of view for that.

Chris, thanks for your help. I will go with the vx3 then.
