Folks,

I am about to buy another new rifle (a Tikka T3 Lite in .308 Win. caliber) and I am in the market for some glass to put atop of it. I want a scope with a 30 mm tube, a 56 mm objective and one that is clear, bright and affordable. This set-up will be for hunting only. No target shooting.

After doing quite a bit of looking on the net I have found a Swift scope that interests me. It is the Swift SPR 3909M Premier 30mm, 3-12x56mm with the Quadraplex Reticle in a Matte finish.

I have checked with all of my local Sporting goods/hunting stores and no-one carries the Swift scopes. I know absolutely nothing about them.

Can anyone tell me what the above scope will compare to and anything about the quality of them? Any info you can share will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have a Swift Premier 4-12.  I really like it.  The glass is better than the price would indicate, it has been on several rifles 7mmMag, 30-06, but primarily .243.  Zero is true, az/el adjustments are very repeatable, it was the scope 3 of my daughters learned to shoot with and hunted with.  The warranty is one of the best.  I would like to get a 30mm, but can't bring myself to replace this one.
SWFA carries them, best deal you will find, 110% price match...

I own several Swift Premier scopes and could not be happier.  But, if I could digress somewhat.  I think the large objective you have chosen is a bit large for such a diminutive rifle.  I own a Tikka T3 Hunter in a 25-06 with a Fujinon 3x9 40mm scope and it matches the rifle perfect.  Actually I would prefer a 36mm objective.  You would do just fine with a smaller scope, especially since you have said it is for hunting.  Swift also makes a lot of other models to fit your bill.  Trust me, you will not go wrong.  Keep the telescopes on a tripod instead of a rifle
