Does it have a factory SS fluted barrel?

http://www.clarkcustomguns.com - http://www.clarkcustomguns.com    I'd get it made for me.  That way I get what I want and not what I dont want.

If I wanted accurate, I'd get a CZ bolt gun.  I'd lust for an Anshutz, but would buy the CZ.

The Ruger is an outstanding 22 and shoots very well. I would take that over the Remington. But if it was me I would look at your local dealer, since the price they are asking is more than what my local dealer is selling it for.

+2 on the ruger, I'd also look at the new weatherby auto.

I'd buy a box-stock Ruger, put on a Tactical Solutions Barrel, and a stock that fit me well.

As for the Gunbroker ads, I don't like the look or feel of those stocks (looked at an old Fajen - or something - and it didn't fit me well.)

Model 70PSS Stainless
believe it or not this handy little thing shoots very well.  As for the Ruger I like the internal system best and the Tactical Solutions Barrel and stock sounds like an awesome idea as I bought a ruger 10-22 a few months back and was quite surprised to find out how poorly the stock barrel shot since I have had 3 others over the years that have all been exceptionally accurate with the stock barrel.

While I wouldn't quarrel with any of the above suggestions, the TC R-55 is another nice semi-auto rimfire with a good reputation for accuracy.

Right now I'm leaning toward building an accurate 10/22 as my winter project.
After doing some research, it looks like there are so many drop in after market parts that I will probably attempt to do most of it myself in my basement.

Good decision, Sam C!

I refitted my Ruger 10/22 with a Volquartson trigger and a lightweight Butler Creek barrel.  It holds 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards with Eley 10X ammunition, even though it just has a cheap Bushnell 4x scope aboard and is still a light sporter-weight rifle.

With a Ruger 10/22,  you can pretty much make it whatever you want it to be (heavyweight, lightweight, etc.).  Be sure to use match-grade ammunition, though, if you really want to see what your rifle can do.

I recommend, at a minimum, better trigger, upgraded bolt release, and a better barrel.  I've had fantastic success with the Tactical Solutions barrels.

There is little more fun than putting a suppressor on a .22LR and popping squirrels with the noise of a pellet rifle.  My setup had taken a few squirrels and rabbits and is much, much fun to shoot!

The Bass people have a special edition Ruger that has the American walnut stock with schnabel forearm, Fleur checkering with extended bolt release. It is a real looker.
