went to my local gunshop to get some powder  and they only had  two cans 0f RL 17 and varget on stock I ended up driving forty miles to get RL22 AND IMR 7828 for eighteen bucks so I grabbed two cans all the other stores I called were sold out and didn't know when the would get more.one gunshop which advertises as central PA's largest had only four or five cans of each manufacture on hand.

My guess would be the same place all the primers are going. Unfortunately, that is not in my powder, and primer cabinet. The usual sources are pretty dry here.

Don't panic the scare will go away soon enough if you panic and go on a buying spree you will screw every one. this has happened before for numerous reasons and it all worked out in the end look what happened to the AR,auto, high cap. crap it just made it better for us in the long run. don't let people capitalize on your money! if you need powder just order it you will get it before you know it.

If you live in  the York / Adams county Area try the Powder Horn in McSherrystown and Redding's hardware in Gettysburg.  I just picked up 8# of Varget and CCI LR 200 Primers as well as Bullets at the Powder-Horn tonight.  He only had Varget in 8lb jugs but was well stocked on most other powders as well as primers.  I saw federal, cci and winchester primers.

The only Varget I am able to find is the quarter pound found in the Hodgdon sample pack.  I bought a few packs but I will buy the 8 pounds when I can find some.  The only primers I can find are magnum and benchrest.  I bought some benchrest.  It may even make my loads better??  I can find other powders but Varget works for a lot of my loads.  I am now reworking loads to work with the other powders.  It is just nice to have one powder that works for so many loads.

Be glad you got it for under $20  Down here in AR I had to pay $25 for some R15 and $23 for H414...  After looking for it for several days.

Mail order is your friend. competitor, Powder Valley, Midway. Yes the haz-mat fee, just buy 8 lb jugs. With competitor you get about 50 lbs on one haz-mat fee & powder in a few days. Some types are hard to find, branch out & try some similiar powders.
