What is the difference between Warne rings and the same base number  identified for AR15 ?
I am looking for rings for my LR-308 and am trying to understand the difference between the 604M and the A604M.

Does one have a thinner cross bolt so it will fit a Weaver rail instead of the Picatinny on the AR?

Another senior moment on my part.
I did call Warne's and they are great people.  I just picked up my 604M's tonight.
The difference is the A604M is aluminum (A) matte finish (M)
They are also holding production of the aluminum A604's while they work out some design issues to prevent stripping the bolts.   My 604M's are not that much heavier and I am very glad I decided not to wait for the A604's.  These things are beasts  8 T-15 Torx bolts, 1/2 nut on the cross lock bolt, nice and wide, and sintered steel.  They are nice.
