I was at my favorite sportings good store today and noticed they didn't have any Eccursions on display. The sales person looked it up and there none in stock. He said they were being discontinued  but I could order one and have it come in to the store. When he told me the ridiculous low price they had I said to order me one.

Are they really being discontinued or just being upgraded?

They are brand new this year so; I doubt they are being upgraded or discontinued.

They may not be in stock - which is something that happens a lot with Bushnell products.  They seem to make thing in cyclical runs so that at certain times of the year you can count on many of their (mostly higher end) products being out of stock.   I had to wait something like 6 weeks to get my Elite spotting scope.

BTW; what was the "ridiculously low" price?

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

$288 - their regular price was $400. The lowest I've seen at online optics stores is $315.

That's not a bad price.  The $315 price tag is pretty close to the norm.  I see these pretty commonly for around $320. The $400 price tag youf store claims as their "regular price" is pure fantasy.  They mark it that way to make you think you are getting a bigger discount than you really are.

Depending on which price you consider to be normal, you saved between $27 and $32 which comes out to about an 8%-10% discount.  That's good.   Not exactly what I would call "ridiculously low," but good.
