I've got a new Burris scope I am mounting on a Rem. Model 700 .30-06.  I am looking at Burris Signature rings and bases, or the Talley Lightweight One-piece ring/base.  It's actually 2 pieces, one for the front and one for the back, but the ring and base are one  single piece.  If I go w/ Talley, I'll need to lap the rings and not so with the Burris.

Comments on one over the other?

The Burris Signature rings are very good. Like you were saying you will have to lap the rings if you go with the Talley setup, whereas with the Burris you do not have to go through all that trouble. I also like the fact that you can use offset inserts to get your scope centered and not have to use a lot of internal adjustment.
