My Sandpiper finally came today and now that I'm done slobbering all over it, I was wondering if a regular 65mm Hoya UV camera filter will fit this scope?  I really like protecting all my lenses but don't know if threads are standard or if everone makes them different? Thanks.

You have an interesting and useful idea, but i can't see any thread on the Sandpiper objective for filters. Do filters use threads, or clip, or the new production Sandpipers have threads?

Mine looks like it has threads, I was under the assumption a locking ring held in the objective lens in place - seems like it would use threads instead of glue to do so.
