I've got a Rem. 700 with an older Leupold 3x9 scope from the 70's.  I have some Weaver rings, same age,  that have 2 screws on one side and the larger round screws on the other.  I am thinking about getting a new Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40 and using these rings.

What do you think about these?   I'm sure some on here know what I'm talking about.am

They may be ugly but they work. I have used them on 22-250 through .375 H&H without a problem.
They can be removed and re-mounted with a decent return to zero. Make sure you seat the cross bolt against the front of the slot, even though play is minimal.
They are also light weight and in the low versions are as low as any mount I have ever used.

They are not the best looking by today's "standards" but they are solid as a rock and look very appropriate on older rifles.

I've got a set on a .50 caliber black powder rifle and another set on a early 1960 vintage marlin 39A .22.
