Are there other factors to consider like is the Kahles a multizero model  Thunbs Up multizero is good stuff.  I like the reticles in the Kahles. I would think these are really close as far as glass quality probably the only person who would be able to answer this is Koshkin.

I have the Zeiss Conquest 3-9X40 on my X-Bolt and love it. Very crisp optics in early morning or evening light for the whitetails.

Between a 3-9x50 Zeiss and 3-10X50 Kahles, the Kahles is much brighter and better contrast than the conquest. Go Kahles and never look back. The Zeiss is a very good scope for low light. If low light is your highest priority go with the 50. It is significantly better when it gets darker.

I personally think the KX/American is small step up from the Conquest, but it is more expensive,  very hard descision.

Depends where one purchases the scope, and what is available at the moment.  My KX off the Sample list  @$599.99 was less expensive than the Conquest new in box.

I own three of each, Kahles and Zeiss scopes, including a 3-9x42.  In every configuration, the Kahles is superior.  The Zeiss are great, but the Kahles are better - to my eyes.

Kahles makes me nervous right now with everything going on, and the service issues. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy one, but just to keep it in the back of your mind.

The Kahles American Hunter (AH) is the same optically as the current KX line.  In reference to U-frnd's question, the AH series was discontinued before the Multi-Zero feature debuted on the CL line.  I have 4 Kahles and 2 Conquest scopes.  In terms of low light performance, I think Kahles across the board is superior to the Conquests, but not by a huge margin.  Either are very good.  Customer service on Kahles scopes is questionable at the moment, now that they parted ways with S.O.N.A. and it's anybody's guess what the future will bring.  OTOH, you can get some great deals on Kahles at the moment, perhaps because of this.

Kahles is a better scope but cost more than the Zeiss Conquest.
