...............I guess nobody uses it! I think Winchester replaced it with their newer 780. I haven`t seen any.

I don't remember seeing the bulk density ratio for Hybrid 100V, but it must be pretty high.  Just about all of the loads shown in the 2008 Annual are compressed.  It looks like it will shine in cartridges like the 300 Win Mag.  I'm still holding out for some RE17 for a lot of the stuff that I load.  Another powder that appears to be similar to Hybrid 100V is Ramshot Hunter.  The bulk density is lower, but the published charges and velocities are close and Hunter is $3.00 - $4.00 a lb cheaper.  I use a lot of the Ramshot powders.  I have been getting clean, accurate loads with good velocities.

yes that is correct they say it is similar to ramshot hunter, and faster than 4350, i want to try it in my .264 and my 6.5rem mags

I`ll cook some loads with some RL17 (WHENEVER I GET SOME) for my 300 WSM and for the .375............This stuff is apparently quite accurate and very surprising!.... 66 gr. of RL 17 using a 180 grain Speer SPBT, getting 3082 fps, from a 300 WSM 24" tube? 69.3 grains with a 150 grain Speer SPBT getting 3342 fps?.....That`s a great velocity to grains ratio!!

Whoops! I forgot! I`ll have to deduct about 4% because of my 300 WSM compact shorty tube.

Woe is me!...............Naughty..............................Laugh

If you keep hawking all of the superb virtues of those compact rifles, then I might just have to trade up to a "squeezer special" myself.  I know a guy that saw 4" off of his 7mm Mag.  Does that count?Sharp Shooter

......Yep! Laugh.......The "OFFICIAL" definition of a "Squeezer Special" is,,,,,,,"Any rifle with a lever action, a bolt action, a single action, a semi auto or auto, that has a barrel of 20" in length or less, sawed off (modified) or otherwise!"

If that 7mag has a barrel 20" long or less, regardless of how it got that way, then it qualifies! In the field, I`m willing to bet that he likes that barrel reduction better??

If you want to trade up to a real "mighty mouse", Remy has their compact M7 available in the 300 WSM, but only in a 22" er if I`m not mistaken. You`ll have to cut it down! Roll on Floor Laughing Unless there are NIB strays around, no more 16.5" tubed Ruger Frontiers like mine are available in the 300 WSM. Discontinued by Ruger about 2 years ago for patent reasons.

Tried Hybrid 100V in 300 winmag and 300 H&H. A bit hotter than 4831. No better accuracy or velocity than H4831SC. It does work through a measure much better but I use an RCBS electric dispenser/scale so that's a non issue. Want to try it in my 260 rem as that works well with 4350 and 100V is said to split the 4350/4831 burn rate.
