Swfa lists the specs as:
LOA: 13.15"
WT: 15 oz

The Zeiss website currently lists it as:
LOA: 12.2"
WT: 13.75 oz

Is there a newer, more compact version available or soon to be available?

You and I must be looking at different scopes.

Oddly enough, I looked at a few other web-sites and they have several different lengths and weights listed for the same scope.

Well, my link didn't work quite as I had planned, but what I read on the Zeiss web-site listed what SWFA said.

The top is from SWFA, and the lower is from Zeiss.

Check out the size of the 2.5x8-32....When you read the description of the 3x9-40 it lists the SWFA dimensions, but when you scroll down to the specs it lists the 12.2'' and 13.75oz.

Wonder if they mighta messed up?

I think you've figured it out. Too bad, a more compact iteration might have been a nice upgrade.
