I ve read a lot in this site about qualities Swaro,Zeiss, Nikon series monarch and 4200 bushnell...
But what about Schmit and Bender ,theirs  high prices ,similar than Zeiss or Swaro. It  s fiable and high end trademade.Do you think S&B is so good as others?

I don't own a SB scope but i have looked thru one owned by a military acquaintance and played around with it's adjustments. It looks and feels like a good quality scope and i would understand why it's ranked there in price with the top tier brands. Image is bright and crisp thru out it's power range. Was only able to look thru it though at daytime and have not been able to compare it side by side with other top tier brands. If the military uses it though, then it must be dependable and good. Have read on another forum though that a certain model or models of the S&B line can't handle the ultra heavy African magnum loads+african gun combo but can pretty much handle military rounds. Big Smile

s$b,diavari, uso, aren't talked about much because they are the best-- why repeat what everyone already knows. when they are discussed, its along the lines of some particular feature -- if a top line scope such as the new premier comes out, there will be a lot of noise. there are different ways to rate scopes, OT forum likes glass, so the rating system is skewed in this direction. most visitors are more concerned how some of the mid, and lower price scopes compare, since the total selection is almost endless.

very good answers, I bought a pair of scopes after came in OT. I own a Nikon monarch (and a Zeiss Conquest coming soon),it s better than  I should thought before have it, I can see much details and a clear vision in low light conditions. OT is very usueful, in my case I was going to buy a Yukon riflescope...

Dale nailed it, this forum is geared toward the average guy, who doesn't have an endless supply of money.  I'm not saying that we don't have some well to do members, just that most of our members usually want the best optics per dollar value.

S&B is right up there with the very best scopes available.  Which is best among Zeiss, Swaro, S&B, USO, etc. is all a matter of individual preference and the intended use.  S&Bs tend to have narrow W/E adjustment range (at least the hunting models do) and are generally heavier than competing brands.  Otherwise, they are optically superb, and they have a reputation for being very rugged.  My S&B Zenith / Flashdot is absolutely my favorite scope and I wouldn't trade it for anything else for the rifle and application I use it.  Everything about it screams quality.

They are the best and everybody knows it? Well I guess if you don't mind hunting with scopes that weigh close to 2 lbs. Or scopes in excess of 3 grand. I guess I'm just the only one on this forum that wasn't made aware of this glaringly obvious tidbit.
